Job Description

Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC) is accepting applications for a full-time Inventory Assistant position for our Dietary department.

This full-time position is responsible for requisitioning, stocking, labeling and proper storage of food and food related supplies for the department to ensure food products are available for the kitchen staff daily operations. The Inventory Assistant’s responsibilities include: Ensuring proper supplies are pulled from the freezer and transported to the kitchen in preparation for the daily meats. Communicating with supervisors and cooks to ensure daily food needs are met. Maintaining adequate inventory balances of storeroom dry goods, refrigerated and frozen food items. Also, food supplies used in the preparation and service of meals. Follows established par levels that have been set for maintaining inventory items. Follows FIFO inventory methods for storage and proper rotation of food products. Managing the stored food items to ensure they are meeting state guidelines and are labeled and stored at the appropriate temperature. Ensures proper thawing cycles for frozen products are adhered to meet Serve Safe and BCHD guidelines. Maintaining a clean and sanitized work area, including freezers and coolers as well as the stock room and other food supply storage areas. Assisting with weekly food truck deliveries and ensures dented cans or other damaged food products are dealt with according to established guidelines. Ensures product deliveries are correct based on quantity ordered and received on a timely basis. Communicates with vendors on issues with deliveries and follows up on outstanding items. This position is designated MANDATORY and MUST report or stay over during adverse weather events and/or other emergencies. This is an anticipated vacancy

Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living.

Demonstrated knowledge of sanitation standards, ability to maintain high standards of sanitation and meet requirements for maintaining food within local health department guidelines.
