EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will lead inmate workers and provide instruction using hands-on vocational training in food service operations including preparation, production, service, and baking. You will inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for compliance with established safety and sanitation standards. You will also plan inmate work assignments, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain worker records. This role requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships that will enable inmates to learn the standard principles and practices of food service operations. In addition, you will ensure that meals are prepared and served timely and in accordance with standardized recipes while maintaining proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM (1st shift) and 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM (2nd shift).You will have rotating days offWork hours TO BE DETERMINEDThis position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986 (before taxes).
