JOB DESCRIPTION

Oversee the planning and management of departmental furniture logistics, including furniture lifecycle planning and replacement, the relocation of furnishings and related items, and delivery coordination Responsible for managing, tracking and planning logistics for all Housing furniture
Responsible for developing replacement schedules for bedroom furniture, lounge furniture, mattresses, other residential furniture pieces, and office furniture
Work with vendors to generate quotes to replace and install furniture
Coordinate the weekly delivery of custodial and maintenance supply supplies; coordinate the logistics of special deliveries, relocation of items, and special projects
Responsible for maintaining appropriate on-hand stock of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment related to furniture repairs and management; ensures appropriate organized storage of on-hand stock in all furniture storage units within the department
Collaborate with various teams (internal and external) to assist with upcoming projects, various facility initiatives or facility projects; assist departmental project managers in planning or renovation projects Responsible for managing departmental assets and equipment Responsible for tracking and managing all capital and attractive assets and equipment within the department; Maintain department status as a self-scanning department ensuring all capital and attractive assets are scanned annually
Responsible for affixing, replacing, and confirming barcode decals on accountable property
Record and maintain asset information within university-managed database, such as asset description, serial number, cost, location, and designated user
Responsible for implementing university and departmental asset tracking processes, policies, and procedures, including compliance with Required Asset Certifications and property control protocols
Collaborate with UF Asset Management Services on disposal of Housing’s accountable assets and surplus property
Coordinate summer project activities with Asset Management, including donation and disposal of decaled and non-decaled assets and property.
Interpret and implement UF accountable and attractive property control policies Responsible for supervision of staff and management of general administrative Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff establishing work priorities and workflow; developing strategic plan and goals relevant to the area, providing general direction and leadership for goal accomplishment
Responsible for administrative functions related to employee management (e.g. time approval and reporting, performance evaluation) and related human resources functions for staff
Assist in budget planning, management, and oversight for areas of responsibility
Responsible for developing, maintaining, disseminating, and enforcing policies, procedures, and guidelines for areas of responsibility
Interpret and ensure compliance with departmental and University policies, guidelines, and other relevant regulations
Ensure general cleaning duties are performed after the completion of tasks within buildings or properties Develop reports, handle special projects, tasks, and other duties as assigned Serves on Division of Student Life or University of Florida committees as needed.
Operates state vehicles including powered industrial truck (forklift)

EXPECTED SALARY

$50,000 to $55,000 annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma and six years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Valid driver’s license required.

PREFERRED

EXPERIENCE Experience and knowledge of commercial receiving operations and procedures
Experience using forklift, pallet jacks, and hand dollies for unloading and moving materials and supplies
General experience purchasing goods and services in an institution of commercial organization
Knowledge of UF Asset Management procedures SKILLS Demonstrated proficiency with computers and basic software applications (e.g. work order management systems, Microsoft Office)
Demonstrated ability to communicate with various levels of staff and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, and timeliness
