Overview As a Design Execution Technician , you’ll be the hands-on expert responsible for turning our design concepts into stunning, guest-ready spaces. From unpacking furniture to hanging art or painting walls and styling final touches, you’ll transform empty units into beautifully curated homes that reflect Upstay’s signature style. Reporting directly to the head of design, you’ll work closely with the designers and operations teams to ensure each project is completed on time and to a high standard.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Assemble, install, and arrange furniture and décor items based on design plans. Hang artwork, mirrors, shelves, curtains, and other decorative features. Execute room setups to meet exact spatial layouts and styling standards (paint, custom woodworking, wallpaper installation) Perform quality checks on furniture and accessories, ensuring no damage or defects. Coordinate with designers, warehouse teams, and site operations. Troubleshoot real-world issues such as spatial constraints, delivery delays or item substitutions. Manage on-site inventory and communicate any missing or damaged items in a timely fashion. Work in a clean, tidy, respectful manner as the work space is the clients home Garbage/recycling disposal Furniture and design item pick up from vendors Ensure each space is clean, functional and tidy at all times, and 100% guest-ready before turnover. What We’re Looking For Experience in staging, furniture assembly, set design, or interior styling preferred. Active imagination and a passion to bring this imagination to life into themed areas of a home (bedrooms, games room, home theatre etc) Strong attention to detail, proactivity and a good eye for design and aesthetics. Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner while being accountable for all assigned tasks Willingness to communicate, basic English language skills preferred Wood working and carpentry skills (custom beds, shelvings) Painting and custom wall paint design Electrical (Light installation, LEDs, outdoor lighting, ceiling fan installation) Wallpaper installation Curtain installation A/V installation Epoxy flooring use and experience Drywall experience Mini Split AC installation Comfortable with tools and installations (drills, levels, mounting hardware). Own personal standard tool set Physical ability to lift and move furniture and décor safely. Self-starter with strong time management, punctuality and accountability. Team player who can work well with fellow team members, designers, contractors, real estate agents and other departments. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required for site visits). Schedule & Location 8 hours/day (unpaid lunch) (some flexibility may be required based on project timelines). Available 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, weekend availability is preferred Travel to properties is a must.
