Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, professional and experienced Warehouse Furniture Repair Technician. The Furniture Repair Tech will be managing inventory control, checking in furniture, unboxing furniture, repairing furniture, managing service calls, updating records, and performing related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and repair skills. Some computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.

Duties:

(include but are not limited to)

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the service, including receiving, storing, and shipping of products.
• Reporting to the Warehouse Manager.
• Assessing damages and choose appropriate methods of repair for wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery
• Must be comfortable working with hands and displays an aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic and/or carpentry services.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate stock levels
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Implementing production, productivity , quality and customer service standards
• Knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
• Ensuring the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment
• Keep equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance , calling for repair
• Maintain all warehouse vehicles and property maintenance
• Collaborate with other departments to improve overall supply chain efficiency
• Handles freight claims with vendors and responsible for ordering service parts and scheduling customer service calls
• Repairing stock and customers merchandise

Requirements:

• Valid NY State Drivers License with Clean Record
• Must be able to lift, carry and move heavy items
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role in a distribution center setting
• Preferably one year experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabric & upholstery Wood repairs including burn-ins & wood graining. Leather repairs including scuffs, holes and tears. Upholstery repairs including structural/mechanism replacements.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and practices
• Experience with transportation planning and dispatching of freight
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
