Who we are looking for: We are looking for a part-time furniture technician and driver to help with various tasks for 15 hours per week including, but not limited to: Assembling furniture out of the box. Fixing damaged or incomplete furniture, such as applying wood glue & clamps to any broken legs or other parts and resolving issues with screws or threading. Sourcing missing hardware when needed. Quality checking & picking up inventory at warehouses & bringing it to storage units within the Nashville Metro area. Making customer deliveries within Metro Nashville & surrounding areas. Occasionally picking up items from people’s houses that the company has purchased or gotten for free. Assisting owner (& any other staff) in lifting & moving around items to organize the showroom(s) or photograph inventory for online listings. Practice safe building and lifting habits.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be available to work three 5-hour shifts per week, ideally on either Mon/Tues, Wed/Thurs, and one weekend day (preferably Saturday). Capable of following written instructions and interpreting instruction manuals. Ability to lift up 50 pounds without assistance from the ground to chest level and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 pounds using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person Able to walk, stand, bend, and squat for designated work hours. Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level, and in enclosed spaces. Able to stack packages in enclosed spaces and above one’s head at the storage units. Able to work in all weather conditions if required at work location. Must work cooperatively and productively with little/some supervision, be detail-oriented, and have proven time management skills. Timely, effective communication and problem-solving skills. An entrepreneurial, hardworking, & trustworthy spirit. Read, write and speak English proficiently. Must be a delight to work with, leaving every customer so glad they chose to buy from and work with us!

Required Equipment & Associated Stipulations:

Must be mechanically skilled, able to use a variety of hand and power tools, and provide creative solutions to routinely solve issues with items. A working, reliable pickup or box truck, or very large van. Must have your own truck straps, bungee cords, and toolbox with key items like a drill, drill bits, wood glue, clamps, wrenches, screwdrivers, tap & die set, etc. Personal car insurance liability coverage of at least $100,000.

Nice to have:

Knows how to rewire broken lamps. Experience with inventory management systems. 24/7 roadside assistance like AAA.

Pay:

Starting at $22/hour, plus gas money for all tracked mileage for work-related tasks (not including reporting to & leaving work at the storage units). You will be a 1099 contractor (no benefits included).
