Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Deburrer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing and refining manufactured parts by removing burrs, sharp edges, and excess material. This role ensures parts meet precise specifications and quality standards for final assembly or delivery. This position also includes helping in other areas in the shop as well. We are looking for someone with proven experience with deburring. Proven experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Responsibilities Set up & operate deburring equipment to remove sharp edges and burrs from machined parts according to specifications and ensuring optimal performance and accuracy in the deburring process. Inspect machined parts for quality assurance, identifying defects, and taking corrective actions as necessary. Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve deburring processes and reduce cycle times. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on deburring equipment to minimize downtime. Review job order prior to working on parts. Remove raised particles or shavings that appear on parts. Repetitive filing or use of a grinder to smooth away nicks and fragments left from machining process. Sanding by hand or sanding with a pneumatic hand tool or sandblast machine for more troublesome deformities. Wash and polish parts prior to submitting for inspection (if needed). Train and mentor team members on best practices and effective deburr techniques, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development. Cross train in other areas as needed. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of deburring equipment to minimize downtime. Maintain 5S in workspace daily. Effectively communicate issues and collaborate with various team members to improve processes.

Safety & Compliance:

Ensure all safety protocols and company policies are followed. Skills The ability to read and following instructions. Verbal ability is required at a level to learn job duties from oral instructions or demonstration. The ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, reading, counting and recording. Manual dexterity is required to manipulate cleaning supplies and equipment while cleaning and grasping and moving materials. Ability to lift, carry, push and pull frequently objects weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to remain stationary (standing or sitting) for extended periods of time while performing activities in machine shop area. Ability to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with hands. Reaching and handling constantly to deburr, degrease, sand, sandblast, or saw parts and material to move materials and remove metal chips. Ability to interpret and read blueprints or job orders.
