Tool Room Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for making or improving different types of tools to enable the production processes within a manufacturing facility to be as efficient as possible.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of experience in a machine shop environment 5+ years of experience cutting tools and using machine shop tooling applications 5+ years of experience using common cutting tool coatings 5+ years of experience operating mills and lathes 5+ years of experience reading blueprints including GD&T 2+ years of cutting tool length pre-setter experience Forklift certified Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, grinding, etc.)

PREFERRED SKILLS

Excellent communication skills Ability to use micrometers, calipers, height gages, and dial indicators preferred General inventory knowledge Familiar with the use of personal computers Problem-solving and attention to detail Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates Fluent in the use of precision hand tools Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, grinding, etc.)

CORE DUTIES

Kit all jobs with cutting tools listed per documentation Order tools as required or needed for the machine shop Maintain cutting tool and fixture inventory Set cutting tool lengths Grind cutting tools as needed Work to provide and improve setup documentation Communicate with machinists, programmers, schedulers, and designers Support and/or perform process improvement projects Maintain configuration control on files and job records Report in writing any discrepancies or conditions that require corrective, predictive, or planned maintenance for production systems Weekly coolant tank maintenance cleaning HOURS 1st shift Monday through Thursday, 4:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Friday OT if needed

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen. Candidates must also meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
