Job Opportunity:

Sheet Metal Grinder/Polisher – 1st Shift – $19/hour

Location:

Sanford, ME We are currently seeking a Sheet Metal Grinder/Polisher to join our team. This position is responsible for grinding and polishing sheet metal to meet manufacturing requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform simple mathematical functions and read blueprints/shop instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, hand trucks, and pallet jacks effectively. Distinguish between sealing surfaces and finish panels to determine the correct grinding process. Grind metal to achieve the proper surface texture, ensuring no product weakening. Recognize and reject failed welds or insufficient welds prior to or during the grinding process. Meet/exceed time and quality standards for assigned parts. Work under normal supervision to ensure customer satisfaction. Apply Lean tools and concepts to eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, motion, waiting, etc.). Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and leads.

Key Performance Metrics:

Meet production demand. Demonstrate teamwork. Show initiative and a safety-conscious attitude. Lift 10-20 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs periodically. Assist with 2-person lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally. Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, climb, or bend for up to 8 hours. Knowledge of hand tools (grinders, saws, cutting tools, measuring equipment).

Schedule and Pay:
