Position:
Voortman Operator (CNC Machinist)
Pay:
$16-18+ depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
This position is primarily responsible for daily operation of cutting structure steel parts on our Voortman Machine (Beams/Angle/Tube/Channel). Loading machine with proper material using overhead cranes. Will learn how to safely and effectively operate machine. Requires unloading material either by hand/crane on to pallets and flat bead trailers.
Skills Required:
- Must have a solid understanding of production in a real time fast paced environment.
- Critical, analytical, and technical thinking skills are a must.
- Forklift experience
Experience:
- 0-2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in the steel service center environment.
- Strong mathematical skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crawling for periods of time.
- Ability to work exposed to elements – odor, smoke, dust, noise, cold, heat, rain, snow
- Occasional ascending or deciding ladders and ramps.
- Pushing, pulling, carrying up to 50 lbs
