Role Overview:
As a Babbitt Application Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to apply babbitt to raw materials through various casting techniques. This integral role in the manufacturing process requires someone with hands-on experience in casting and foundry operations, knowledgeable in handling molten metals.
Key Duties:
Performing cleansing and disassembly of fluid film bearings Conducting grit blasting Managing spin casting equipment setup Executing static or spin casting methods to apply molten babbitt
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in casting room and foundry equipment Basic metallurgical knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous substances Proficiency in TIG welding Familiarity with fabrication techniques Skill in operating acetylene torches Understanding of furnace and melting pot operations Competence in overhead crane usage Experienced in interpreting routings, drawings, and process documents Strong analytical and communication abilities Capacity for independent work
Workplace Environment:
Function in an indoor casting foundry, involved in hot work Ability to lift and move weights up to 50 lbs. regularly Capability to stoop, bend, crawl, reach, stand, and walk frequently Comfort with complex data comprehension and clear communication
