Knife Grinder 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Fletcher, NC 28732 Knife manufacturing facility in Fletcher is looking for a Knife Grinder. The Surface Grinder Operator is responsible for grinding and smoothing metal surfaces on workpieces using precision surface grinding machinery.

Weekday shift:

Tuesday-Friday 6:30am-7pm ($20/hr.)

OR Weekend Shift:

Saturday, Sunday & Monday 6:30am-7pm ($21/hr.) •Must be available to train on 1st shift Monday – Friday 8am-5pm until they switch to new schedule. •90-day temp-to-hire position. What You’ll Be Doing Operate surface grinder equipment to grind, chip, and smooth metal workpieces per specifications. Visually and manually examine the surface of workpieces for flaws or irregularities. Follow job orders, blueprints, and guidelines to properly finish materials. Replace worn abrasive disks and wheels as needed using hand tools. Guide tools precisely along workpieces to create bevels, grooves, or smooth edges. Maintain a clean and safe working environment and follow all safety procedures. What You’ll Need to Win Ability to remain on feet for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs. High attention to detail and a fine sense of touch. Basic knowledge of math, measuring, and use of hand tools. Familiarity with general shop equipment and grinding tools. Strong self-motivation and ability to manage time effectively. Good manual dexterity and a commitment to accuracy. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
