Driver’s License Commercial construction Construction Full Job Description Saffo Contractors, Inc. is seeking a full-time Certified Shotcrete Nozzleman to join our bridge division. We are seeking an individual with experience as a nozzleman for bridge repairs throughout the US with the majority of work on the East Coast. This is a dual-role position. When shotcrete is not required, this team member will roll over to the crew.

Duties:

The nozzleman collaborates with the foreman, finisher or rodman, and pump/gun operator to ensure precise shotcrete application. They work together to achieve the required line and grade. Before shotcrete installation, the nozzleman ensures that all areas receiving shotcrete are clean, sound, and free of loose material. They also verify the proper placement and spacing of anchors, reinforcement, and ground wires. The nozzleman applies shotcrete in a manner that meets both industry and Saffo Contractors’ quality standards. Effective communication with other crew members to achieve accurate shotcrete placement. The nozzleman will work within the crew when shotcrete is not within the current scope of work. Set up shotcrete equipment. Thoroughly clean equipment after use. Ensure proper operation by completing minor maintenance as needed. Wash away excess concrete and clean concrete surface and work areas when work is complete. Make test panels as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

ACI Vertical and Overhead Certified for dry-mix process minimum. Experience with Civil DOT projects a plus. They must be well-versed in using and maintaining shotcrete equipment, including nozzles, hoses, pumps, and admixture/water pumps. Proficiency in shooting techniques, understanding air, water, and mixture flow, and ensuring proper finishing, protection, and curing of freshly placed shotcrete. Knowledge of safety protocols related to shotcrete work. Ability to work effectively in all shotcrete roles which may include but are not limited to finishers, rodmen, and pump/gun operators. Pass a pre-employment drug screen. Have an insurable driving record. Have a valid driver’s license. (CDL’s a plus but not required) Have reliable transportation. Proof of citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
