Tool and Die Trainee Position Available In Sullivan, Tennessee

Tool and Die Trainee Modern Forge Tennessee LLC 501 Rock Lane, Piney Flats, TN 37686 We are looking for skilled employees to create and repair dies used in our forging and pressing operations. A great potential machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics, as well as respect for safety precautions while maintaining effective production operations and optimizing procedures. Wage starts at $16/hour DOE and there is an added shift differential for 3rd shift.

THIS IS A 3RD SHIFT ROLE.

Responsibilities Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand die specifications Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job Take measurements and mark material for cutting, hand grinding or shaping Select appropriate machines or tools and position or load material for a job Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues Check output to ensure consistency with specifications Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages Skills Experienced in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.) or completion of vocational training or machinist apprenticeship Ability to use precision tools (e.g. micrometers) to take accurate measurements Knowledge of the properties of tool steel and cutting/grinding requirements Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Good at math with analytical abilities Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items when needed
