JOB DESCRIPTION
Clean Harbors – Decatur, AL is looking for a Hazardous Materials Technician to join their safety conscious team. This person would be responsible for the performance of tasks associated with collecting, segregating, packing, and preparing for shipment of hazardous waste in accordance with ourpany policies and procedures In this position, you will be responsible for the proper classification, identification, packaging, and labeling of hazardous waste, ensuringpliance with all environmental regulations and internal procedures
You will also be tasked with processing regulatory paperwork, unpacking hazardous materials onsite and at customer sites when necessary, and sampling the contents of containers

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority byplying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
Preparesputer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications;
Performs inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures andpliance;
Inspects storage area for leaks or spills;
Inspects drums forpliance with labeling regulations;
Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintainpliance;
Samples and profiles of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing;
Physically demanding position; Must be able to lift 50 pounds;
Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
Hazardous waste experience preferred;
Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record.
