- See breakdown of minimum qualifications listed below for each position This is skilled work involving the installation, maintenance, cleaning, inspection and repair of the open and closed stormwater conveyance systems.
Employees in this class are skilled workers and work as a leader of a small crew or work independently to perform stormwater maintenance work to include laying storm lines and extensions, repairing broken storm lines, building and repairing manholes, inlets, curbs, streets sidewalks, and a variety of structures, removing vegetation and debris from ditches, creeks, ponds, and lakes and performing related work incidental to these tasks. Required to work under adverse environmental conditions. This work is to be completed with compliance to Federal, State and local regulations, including the City of Largo’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit Regulations. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a supervisor or designated supervisor for adherence to schedules, safety and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
TECHNICIAN I
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and three (3) years experience in the operation of trucks, tractors, or other equipment related to Stormwater and Roadway construction, or an equivalent combination of training and experience Must possess a Florida Class B CDL License For continued employment, must possess or obtain prior to the an employee’s anniversary date in position: Basic Maintenance of Traffic Certification FSA Stormwater Level I or FWPCOA Stormwater Class C and B Certification FDEP Sediment and Erosion Control Certification Hazardous Material Certification NIMS Training And including all of the Trainee minimum requirements
TECHNICIAN II
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and five (5) years experience in the operation of trucks, tractors, or other equipment related to Stormwater and Roadway construction, or an equivalent combination of training and experience Must possess a Florida Class B CDL License For continued employment, must possess or obtain prior to the end of probationary period (6 months): Basic Maintenance of Traffic Certification NIMS Training Hazardous Material Certification FDEP Sediment and Erosion Control Certification For continued employment, must possess or obtain prior to the an employee’s anniversary date in position: FSA Stormwater Level I or FWPCOA Stormwater Class C and B Certification
SENIOR TECHNICIAN
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and eight (8) years of experience in the operation of trucks, tractors, or other equipment related to Stormwater and Roadway construction, or an equivalent combination of training and experience Must possess a Florida Class A CDL with Tanker and Haz-Mat Endorsement For continued employment, must possess or obtain prior to the end of probationary period (6 months): Basic Maintenance of Traffic Certification NIMS Training Hazardous Material Certification FDEP Sediment and Erosion Control Certification. For continued employment, must possess or obtain prior to the an employee’s anniversary date in position:
