Abatement Worker 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Independence, MO 64057 Overview We are seeking dedicated and skilled Abatement Workers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely removing hazardous materials such as asbestos and mold from various environments. Your expertise will contribute to restoring spaces to a safe and healthy condition while adhering to strict safety regulations and guidelines. Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of sites to identify hazardous materials requiring abatement. Implement proper procedures for the safe removal of asbestos, mold, and other harmful substances. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow OSHA regulations to ensure safety during all operations. Prepare work areas by setting up containment zones and ensuring proper ventilation. Safely transport and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Collaborate with team members to build and restore environments post-abatement. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including site assessments and removal processes. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in abatement techniques and safety protocols. Qualifications Previous experience in mold remediation or asbestos abatement is preferred but not required. Knowledge of OSHA standards related to hazardous material handling is essential. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces. Certification in asbestos abatement or mold remediation is a plus but can be obtained after hiring.
