Hazmat Operations Technician (No experience needed)

Kannapolis/ Surrounding Area | Flexible & On-Call Availability. This is not an opportunity with set hours. You should already have a main source of income. This is extra side money. You tell me when you are available. If a call comes in, I reach out to see if you’re available. This best suits students, ride share drivers, part time workers, or those looking for extra side money. Hazmat Heroes is looking for a reliable, hands-on Hazmat Technician to join our field team. You won’t be handling hazardous materials at first — instead, you’ll play a crucial behind-the-scenes role in the cold zone , helping us keep operations running smoothly and safely. Once we teach you how to work safely, we will certify you in
HAZWOPER
(OSHA 40). The more you learn, the higher your wage!
What You’ll Do:
Set up and break down equipment at response scenes Bring tools, gear, and supplies to team members in active zones Keep the cold zone organized and clear of hazards Greet and control persons trying to enter work site Snap clear, high-quality photos for documentation Communicate with customers while technicians are working Decontaminate & Clean all tools and equipment after job Manage job site paperwork Constantly observe working technicians, and report emergencies to 911. Follow zone protocols and assist with light cleanup and logistics Once you become certified you will actually work in cleaning up spills. Donning protective suits, gloves, masks, and disposing of hazardous materials.
What We’re Looking For:
Organized, punctual, and cool under pressure Able to lift 30+ lbs and work on your feet outdoors Great communication and attention to detail Comfortable supporting emergency response teams Must be 18+ with reliable transportation

STARTS AT
$18.00/ hour After approx 5-20 hours of training, you will be evaluated to determine if you are capable of doing the job. If you are, you will begin the classroom instruction to become certified Technician. Once completed you will receive a $5 pay increase. $23.00/ hour, after learning the basics and becoming certified. You will learn different protocols. Tactics, safety, paperwork.. etc. Of how we do business. After 20-40 hours of additional training. You will be evaluated to determine if you can operate without direct supervision. If you possess the required safety knowledge you will receive another $5 pay increase. $28.00/ hour. After you have proved yourself capable of working without supervision. You can begin learning supervisory duties. Like communicating with customers, brokers, and other officials. Report writing, documentation.. etc. If you determine that you want to pursue a leadership position. We will allow you to act as a supervisor in training. Running jobs on your own (with direct supervision). As a Supervisor in training, you will recieve another $5 pay increase. $33.00/ hour. As you work on learning how to run your own group of technicians, and you show that you are willing to take safety seriously, and meet the company standards. You can become a Supervisor (no supervision). Usually take approx 60-100 hours of supervisor training to be comfortable enough to work without supervision. $38.00. This is generally the highest hourly wage you can obtain, this means you are running a crew completely on your own. (You can always call for help or questions). No hazmat experience needed.
