Hazmat Team Leader – Hazmat Operations (HOT ZONE)

Location:

Kannapolis/ Surrounding Area | Flexible & On-Call Availability. This is not an opportunity with set hours. You should already have a main source of income. This is extra side money. You tell me when you are available. If a call comes in, I reach out to see if you’re available. Hazmat Heroes is looking for a reliable, hands-on Hazmat Team leader to join our field team. You will be supervising technicians who are handling hazardous materials directly — and you’ll play a crucial front line role helping us keep operations running smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Do:

Directs small field teams (2-4 responders) during hazmat operations in the warm and hot zones. Leads PPE donning/doffing procedures, safety checks, and pre-entry briefings. Coordinates daily task assignments, equipment deployment, and team movements on site. Ensures team compliance with

HAZWOPER

protocols, decontamination procedures, and zoning integrity. Monitors air quality instruments and oversees perimeter control measures. Assists in entry team operations involving sample collection, containment, or hazard identification. Communicates directly with Field Commander to report team status and situational updates. Completes basic incident documentation, decon logs, and time-on-air records. Acts as first-line mentor to junior technicians and operators. Enforces safety-first culture while maintaining mission readiness and site discipline. Although you are a supervisor, you are still required to work with your team during hands on cleanups.

What We’re Looking For:

HAZWOPPER 40 CERTIFICATION

Previous Experience as a Hazmat Technician Previous supervisor experience Great communication and attention to detail Comfortable operating in confined spaces Must be 21+ with reliable transportation
