Hazmat Technician – Hazmat Operations (HOT ZONE)

Location:

Kannapolis/ Surrounding Area | Flexible & On-Call Availability. This is not an opportunity with set hours. You should already have a main source of income. This is extra side money. You tell me when you are available. If a call comes in, I reach out to see if you’re available. Hazmat Heroes is looking for a reliable, hands-on Hazmat Technician to join our field team. You will be handling hazardous materials directly — and you’ll play a crucial front line role helping us keep operations running smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Do:

Responds to hazardous materials incidents including chemical, biological, radiological, and fuel spills. Conducts containment, cleanup, neutralization, and proper disposal of hazardous substances in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Operates in Level A, B, or C PPE including full-face respirators and SCBA, depending on incident requirements. Performs site assessments and implements spill control measures such as diking, absorbents, or vacuum recovery. Utilizes chemical identification tools and meters (PID, FID, multi-gas monitors) to assess atmospheric hazards. Participates in decontamination line setup for personnel, equipment, and waste material. Prepares and labels recovered materials for transport and disposal per EPA hazardous waste guidelines. Completes incident documentation, exposure logs, and reports for regulatory and internal use. Works closely with Incident Command, other emergency responders, and environmental agencies on-scene. Participates in ongoing training, safety drills, and

refreshers to maintain certifications and readiness.
