Description Summary:

The dispatcher is the communication point for all drivers and field technicians and is responsible for scheduling, planning, and dispatching while staying compliant with FMCSA regulations. Duties and responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Scheduling jobs: Ensure proper equipment will be utilized, Acquire vital information to complete the job completely, relay important information to appropriate personnel (internal and external).
Communicate with Shop and Logistics to reduce interruptions in service.
Schedule loads into disposal facility.
Paperwork preparation including but not limited to:
Universal Hazardous Waste manifests
PA Non-Hazardous manifests
Bill of landings
Job work orders
RCCR Reports
Work sheets
MEI request for service forms
Scheduling Employees based on specific abilities, requests off (personal, vacation), job knowledge, work performance, classification, and hours of work.
Monitors driver compliance with hours of service.
CDL Log corrections.
File copies of manifest for previously placarded loads and hand these out to driver the next time the piece of equipment is used.
Vehicle and Equipment tracking on graphical dispatch board to cover daily work.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Performs emergency response activities.
Ensures proper use of equipment and immediately notifies supervisor of any issues with equipment.
Reports for all schedule work shifts before scheduled starting time, and works until scheduled stopping time, as required.
Maintains MEI’s core values.
Attend MEI’s Saturday safety meetings once every other month.
Quick and immediate response when on call every 5th week.
Wear and properly use a variety of levels A-D of personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection when needed.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (rotating schedule), ability to work long hours during peak times and to be on call 24/7 as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
