Canton Heavy Press Horizontal Heat Treat Operator – 3rd Shift 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 180 Lamar Haley Parkway, Canton, GA 30114 Pay $22.00/hr Starting; $23.56/hr After Completion of Level 1 (Around 90 Days) Company Overview Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC) is a global leader in the manufacture of aerospace products. UAC supplies aircraft manufacturers and their subcontractors worldwide and has served the aircraft industry for over four decades. UAC specializes in 2000- and 7000-series alloys and offers a full range of alloys and tempers that can be tailored to a customer’s particular application. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Exercise and promote safety Assume all tools are hot Handle and store chemicals properly Know how to use the required tools Locate, read and understand all hard card information including alloy, S.O. number and all special instructions for any given lot Make TC wires Operate the horizontal heat treat (HHT) furnace according to specified metallurgical practices and Process Control Procedures Can run a transfer cycle Move material on and off table Stage material for the cycle Use HHT Quench program Operate Yokogawa and Historian Set and verify recipes on oven controller Follow all process control procedures prescribed for the tasks performed with consistency and diligence Load and unload product into solution heat treat furnaces in accordance with UAC Standard Practices Understand soak times Load split loads Understand pumps, sprays and spray zones Understand defects and what they look like Pre-inspect for major defects Inform foreman of any quality issues Complete and file all required forms and document work Fill out inspector forms (crane, quench, non-con) Perform minor maintenance and PM’s on the furnace and quench as necessary Work in a team-based environment and is accountable to other team members Participate in team problem solving and improvement activities Support and work to achieve success on team decisions and activities Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Minimum Education:

3 months’ experience with comparable job

Certifications Required:

Obtained during new hire orientation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Communication Skills:

Ability to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others; able to assimilate ideas originated by others

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to carry out and communicate written and/or oral instructions
