HIRING FOR HEAT TREAT OPERATOR

Full Time, 3/4 shifts/week Renold Morristown is actively recruiting for the position of Heat Treat Operator for our 3rd shift team. This shift is 6:00 pm

  • 6:00 am Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & every other Wednesday scheduled. Applicants should be available to train on 1st shift for a minimum of 4 weeks; 7am
  • 3:30pm, Monday
  • Friday.

A $0.75/hour shift premium will apply once moved to the night shift schedule. This position’s daily functions include : Set-up/operates various heat treat equipment to case harden, through harden, and temper components by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Attends the job during the scheduled work hours, including coverage for heat treat operator absence.
  • Follows all departmental and company safety rules / procedures.
  • Receives instructions, material requirements, prints, routings, and work orders for the job.
  • Plans details of working procedure, selects programs, furnace cycle time, belt speeds and temperatures needed for drawing requirements.
  • Stages material in work area, weighs parts prior to loading.
  • Loads components into furnace feeding devices or loads and unloads into baskets and containers for batch type treatment.
  • Performs routine maintenance.
  • Operates heat treat equipment to perform the necessary treatment on parts according to instructions and to blueprint specifications.
  • Performs destructive and non-destructive testing. Requirements include cutting, breaking, and etching pieces to inspect case depths. Uses brinnel scopes to calculate surface hardnesses and depths. Operates various hardness testing equipment for Rockwell and Brinnel readings.
  • Monitors furnace conditions, quench and furnace temperatures, flow scopes, conveyor speeds, burners, quench levels and agitation.
  • Recognizes non-conforming or defective product, makes corrections or segregates from other production.
  • Operates multiple furnaces by performing the duties mentioned above to run successive pieces to the specified order requirements.
  • Performs part inspection for each load, records data.
  • Washes parts as necessary. Operates shot blasting equipment as required.
  • Dumps parts into appropriate containers, attaches work order documentation.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork.
  • Moves material to next destination and stages as required using material handling equipment
  • i.e. towmotor.
  • Reports progress / status to supervisor or lead person.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.

OVERTIME
