Our Danbury showroom houses one of the most advanced and visible jewelry workshops in the country, where our skilled artisans create and repair pieces in full view of our clientele. We specialize in working with 14K and 18K gold and platinum, bringing to life custom designs and timeless heirlooms with unmatched quality and care. Position Overview Jewelry Designs is seeking an experienced Bench Jeweler to support the fabrication, repair, and finishing of fine jewelry pieces. This role does not require CAD design or stone setting skills but demands a high level of proficiency in traditional bench work including torch work, soldering, laser welding, and finishing . You will work closely with our master jewelers to help maintain the quality and consistency Jewelry Designs is known for. Key Responsibilities Perform jewelry repairs and finishing on gold and platinum pieces, including ring sizing, prong work, soldering, and shank repair Operate polishing and buffing equipment to achieve fine finishes Utilize laser welding equipment for precision work (training provided if necessary) Prepare pieces for the setting department by completing clean and accurate assembly Maintain clean, organized bench and contribute to a safe, professional work environment Work efficiently and accurately according to job specifications and quality standards Communicate effectively with managers and team members regarding project timelines and issues Required Qualifications 3-7+ years of professional bench experience in a fine jewelry environment Expertise in soldering, polishing, assembly, and general repair work Comfortable working with gold and platinum Strong understanding of traditional jewelry construction Excellent attention to detail and quality control Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, high-production workshop High School diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Experience with laser welding equipment Formal jewelry school or technical training (GIA, New Approach, etc.) Familiarity with polishing techniques for high-end finishes
