Job Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished and skilled Product Development Specialist to oversee the entire lifecycle of our jewelry collections, from initial concept through to final production. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that each collection is meticulously aligned with our brand ethos, embodying TaTe core values and aesthetics that define our identity. This opportunity is ideal for an individual with a deep understanding of both jewelry design and manufacturing, capable of managing and optimizing the creative journey from concept to finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the entire jewelry creation process, from concept and design to final production, ensuring all designs are translated into high-quality jewelry that reflects the company’s brand ethos. 2. Collaborate with the design team to develop new collections that align with the company’s brand identity, ensuring that every design element and material selection embodies the brand’s vision. 3. Provide technical insights on material selection, production capabilities, and design feasibility to ensure designs are innovative, manufacturable, and aligned with production standards. 4. Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure efficient use of resources, timely delivery, and the successful completion of collections, managing material procurement, labor allocation, and timelines. 5. Supervise the quality control process across all stages of production, ensuring each piece meets the highest standards of consistency and craftsmanship. 6. Ensure timely production and delivery of all collections and custom orders by implementing effective workflows that minimize delays and meet customer expectations for quality and timeliness. 7. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline production processes, reduce lead times, and improve efficiency while preserving design integrity and brand consistency. 8. Manage, train, and mentor a team of jewelers and production staff, fostering a collaborative and creative environment to ensure the team’s ability to produce high-quality jewelry. 9. Oversee prototype and sample development, ensuring design accuracy, functionality, and quality before scaling up production. 10. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the manufacturing environment, maintaining a safe workplace for all employees. 11. Maintain accurate records of production schedules, material usage, labor costs, and progress on collections, providing regular updates to senior management on status, challenges, and milestones.
Requirements:
Proven experience in both jewelry design and manufacturing (minimum 5 years), with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. Strong understanding of the entire jewelry creation process, from design concept to production (casting, stone setting, polishing, finishing). Ability to translate the brand’s ethos and aesthetic into cohesive and impactful jewelry collections. Experience managing production workflows, resources, and timelines to ensure timely delivery of high-quality pieces. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team of jewelers and production staff. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments to meet business and customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in jewelry design, fine arts, business, or a related field. Proficiency with jewelry design software or CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools. Proficiency with POS systems, MS Office Applications Knowledge of industry trends, materials, and innovative techniques in jewelry design and manufacturing.
