Summary of Job Duties:
The Locksmith Apprentice will help licensed skilled tradesmen and learn to install trade related components in campus buildings; trade specific skills related to trouble-shooting, repairs and other duties within each Trade function. An apprentice will participate in training and demonstrate a willingness to learn a craft. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications. At least 18 years of age
Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working and/or assisting a Carpenter/Locksmith
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in the various trade areas
Knowledge of the methods, practices, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades
Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to one or more of the skilled trades
Skilled in the use of operation and care of tools and machinery
Skilled in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades
Ability to learn to perform manual labor under varying working conditions
Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings
Experience with CMMS systems and basic understanding and usage of Microsoft office products

$39,930.00 – $43,923.00; Commensurate with education and experience
