Responsibilities
Assistswith the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment ofvarious typesof conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.
Fabricates andmodifiesparts to make or repair machine tools ormaintainindustrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
Measures, examines, and tests completed unitsin order todetect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
Qualifications

Required Education:

Vocational/Technical Training Degree
Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Experience operating CNC Mills and/or Lathes.
Basic understanding G&M Codes
Knowledge of insert wear.
Ability to change your own tooling (inserts)
Ability to use machining measurement equipment (i.e. calipers, depth mics, etc.)
Mathematical skills.
Technical expertise.
Manual dexterity.
Physical Stamina.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Leadership skills.
