Setting up, operating, and maintaining manual VTL machines to produce parts according to blueprints and specifications. This includes selecting and securing tooling, managing machine controls, and ensuring accurate dimensional and finish specifications.

Job Duties•Setting up and operating VTL machines:

This involves mounting, leveling, and aligning the workpiece, selecting and installing cutting tools, and adjusting machine settings for optimal performance•Reading and interpreting blueprints:

VTL machinists must be able to understand technical drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications•Selecting and preparing tooling:

Choosing the correct cutting tools, setting them up, and ensuring they are properly sharpened or adjusted for the machining process•Monitoring the machining process:

Observing the machine’s operation, ensuring proper cutting speeds and feeds, and making adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy•Conducting quality checks:
