Great work-lifebalance focus. The Senior Machinist will independently performmachining, fabrication, assembly, and testing tasks to support newproduct development and production. This role requires interpretingengineering drawings, planning machining operations, and ensuringhigh-quality output. The ideal candidate must possess strong verbaland written communication skills in English, maintain a safe andorganized work environment, and interact with the company’s ERPsystem for job tracking.
Responsibilities:
Prototyping & ProductDevelopment:
Collaborate with Engineering to develop prototypesusing various manufacturing methods and materials. Fabricatecomponents, assemble parts, and test completed units. Design andconstruct jigs and fixtures. Assist in product design, testing, andtroubleshooting. Adapt quickly to changing project demands.
Production Support:
Manufacture low- and high-volume parts. Modifyexisting components as needed. Fabricate and maintain jigs andfixtures for production. Machine Operations (Including but notlimited to): Operate CNC and manual lathes and milling machines(milling experience is essential). Use grinders, sanders, andwelding equipment (TIG, MIG, arc). Utilize 3D printing forprototyping. Program CNC machines using models, drawings, orsketches. Troubleshoot, optimize, and modify CNC programs toenhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Operate additionalmachines while CNC equipment is running.
Measurement & QualityControl:
Utilize precision measurement tools including calipers,micrometers, protractors, scales, and shadow graphs. Ensure allwork meets strict tolerances and quality standards.
AdditionalResponsibilities:
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools. Executeadditional tasks as required. Adapt to evolving duties andresponsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
Advanced machiningskills required. 2 years of experience setting up and operating3-axis CNC milling machines. 2 years of experience with manualmills and lathes. Experience generating and optimizing toolpathsand G-code using CAM software (Mastercam preferred). Ability tomaintain tolerances within 0.003″ for manual machining operations.
NIMS (or equivalent) certifications preferred. Experience withsoldering, brazing, and welding (TIG, MIG, arc). Electro-mechanicalassembly experience (wiring and plumbing). Proficiency in CAD/CAMsoftware and business applications (ERP systems, email, jobtracking). Strong understanding of engineering drawings andGD&T. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience:
Associate’s degree in a technical field(Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent. 5years of experience in a similar machining role, or NIMScertification plus 2 years of machining experience. 10 years ofmachining/model-making experience preferred.
