Autonomy and resources to do your job Essential Duties Responsibilities Coordinate with Welding Foreman to locate and request purchase of necessary supplies. Analyzing specification charts, samples, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements.
Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts.
Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan.
Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly.
Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise
Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
Maintaining equipment located throughout the machine shop.
Observe and maintain all safety procedures.
Consult and coordinate with Welding and Fabrication Supervisor for the modification of existing or development of new equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to mechanics and machining and be subject to temporary assignment with other supervisors or for field work.
Observes all safety procedures.
Report to work as scheduled by the employer and without excessive absenteeism.
Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent
1-2 years’ experience
Strong mathematical skills
Other Requirements:
Ability to cut threads on a lathe.
Use a Dividing head for Gear cutting and other applications.
Valid Florida Driver’s License.
Ability to drive a forklift or learn.
Working Conditions:
Primarily works under a shed outside exposed to the elements.
Exposed to hazardous materials.
Exposed to frequent loud noises.
Exposed to dangerous machinery.
Generally works 40 hours weekly, although overtime may occur.
