Introduction:
Our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Jacksonville and Component Operations facility is seeking an Aircraft Machinist that are motivated to support a greater cause in directly impacting military warfighter readiness by providing critical maintenance repairs and modifications for our military customers. The professionals chosen to fill these positions will join our MRO and Component Operations organization, working as part of a team in support of our key programs such as military commercial derivatives, fighter aircraft and aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul. The candidates chosen will be responsible for adherence to established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance. To ensure we continue to support our customers, we are looking for skilled aircraft maintenance professionals to join our team. Successful applicants will be based in Jacksonville, Florida.
Position Responsibilities:
Follows detailed verbal and/or written instructions, reads and interprets moderately complex blueprint drawings and specifications to set-up and machine items to fabricate out of sequence emergent production parts as required using manual and CNC machines. Develop and revise Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry. Assist other machinists in completing job responsibilities. Job duties include but are not limited to: CNC machine operations Fabricate, modify, and repair metallic production and aircraft parts and assemblies using manual or CNC mills and lathes. Identify nonconforming parts and assemblies and processes. Work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes. Set up and use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as: dial indicators, micrometers, protractors, calipers, bore gages, and other related close tolerance measuring equipment. Develop layouts required to fabricate machined parts. Plans sequence of operations; makes calculations for tapers, angles pitch root and thread diameters dimensions, and cuts. Set up equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders and drill presses; determines proper tool sequence for machining prototype detail parts. Ensure all work is free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and complies with engineering specifications. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 3+ years of experience setting up and operating Manual and CNC machines 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes Physical ability to stand for duration of a shift; able to lift, carry, move and manipulate a large volume and variety of parts 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Applications Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 1+ years of Tool Control experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment Experience in Supply Chain, Inventory Control, Manufacturing or Quality Experience working in Cribmaster, Andon, and BESSY Experience using lean manufacturing principles
