Machine Shop Supervisor Job Summary:
Tampa Brass and Aluminum Corporation (TBAC) is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our second shift to operate, set up, and troubleshoot CNC machines for precision parts manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SolidWorks for interpreting 3D models and Esprit CAM software for programming toolpaths. This role requires strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a solid understanding of machining practices in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components. + Interpret blueprints, 3D models (SolidWorks), and technical drawings to understand part specifications. + Create and modify CNC programs using Esprit CAM software. + Ensure parts are machined to tight tolerances and quality standards. + Perform routine inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools. + Troubleshoot and correct machining issues to minimize downtime. + Work collaboratively with the engineering and quality departments to improve processes. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. + Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or degree preferred. + Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment. + Proficiency with SolidWorks for model interpretation. + Hands-on experience programming with Esprit (or similar CAM software). + Strong knowledge of G-code, speeds, feeds, and tooling. + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T. + Willingness to work second shift (typically 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday-Friday). + Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with multi-axis machines or Swiss-style turning + Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles + Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision industries
