Job Description

The Lead Machinist is a full-time position that will be responsible for using milling machines, boring mills, grinders, lathes, and precision measuring equipment to perform/alterations on aircraft parts and fabricate tolls. The ideal candidate must maintain a positive attitude, strong work energy, and be oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills. This position is based in Medley, Florida. Hours are 2PM-10:30PM, Mon-Fri.
Responsibilities:
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter Observe, operate, monitor the feed and speed of, and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to repair products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances Position, fasten, and check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers Confer with engineering or supervisory personnel to exchange technical information Other duties as required
Qualifications:
