While working atCaterpillar Inc. the successful candidate for this position willfunction as an “CNC Technician” at the Building ConstructionProducts Division’s plant in Athens, Georgia. This position will beprimarily focused on support for machining Small Track-TypeTractors (STTT) and Mini-Hydraulic Excavator (MHE) structures. As a3rd Shift position the expected work hours will be 11 pm
- 7:30 am(Sun-Fri), but additional hours or shifted schedules may berequired depending on business needs. The primary job will beproactive in process optimization, CNC machining, data analysis andable to recognize and institute tooling/fixture improvements. Inthis role you may be expected to: /n
- Troubleshoot and developsolutions for manufacturing issues. /n
- Monitor and communicatemachining process capabilities (Cpk and Cp monthly reviews). /n
- Initiate tooling improvement projects. /n
- Perform quality checkson machines, parts, and tooling. /n
- Issue Process ChangeNotifications (PCN’s) to the operations and quality teams whenmaking program, fixture or tooling changes. /n
- Monitor andmaintain record of machine center coolant concentrations. /n
- Collaborate with the operations, quality, and manufacturingengineering teams to successfully execute manufacturing andengineering changes. /n
- Modify engineering documentation asneeded. /n
- Train team members on tooling setup and maintenance./n
- Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements. /n
- Troubleshoot weld sequencer issues on the floor.

BasicQualifications:
/n
- Must be able to function independently inMicrosoft Word and Excel. /n
- Three years of machining experience./n
- Proficient in hand and power tools. /n /n PhysicalRequirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): /n
- Willing and able to sit/stand for prolonged periods. /n
- Willingand able to perform repetitive operations. /n
- Willing and able tolift up to 35 lbs. /n /n Top candidates will also have: /n
- Diploma or associate degree in Machining Technology (or relatedfield). /n
- Experience in writing and manipulating CNC programs./n
- Ability to modify tooling and speeds/feeds to optimize qualityand reduce total cost. /n
- Ability to rebuild and correctly setupof complex cutting tools and fixtures. /n
- Ability to inspectparts using complex gaging and interpret dimensional reports andSPC data. /n
- Understanding of blueprints and geometricdimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). /n
- Experience intraining peers and new employees on machining processes. /n
- Experience with conducting time studies. /n
- Experience with leanmanufacturing. /n
- Experience with or ability to learn Power BIand Microsoft Teams SharePoint system. /n
- Experience using WeldSequencer.

- nightshift premium).
Summary Pay Range:
$27.50

40 Compensation andbenefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualizedfactors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills,individual performance and experience. Please note that salary isonly one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
