Senior Aerospace Aircraft Machinist Company:

The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Aerospace Aircraft Machinist to join our dynamic team in New Orleans, LA.

Position Responsibilities:

Works with technical counterparts and others to develop solutions to complex out of sequence emergent production machining challenges. Develops and revises Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry. Assists in defining methods of operations and sequences to meet company and customer objectives. Interprets high level requirements to successfully complete complex non-routine, machining operations. Mentors other machinists in resolving issues and completing job responsibilities. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): High School Diploma or equivalent 10+ years’ experience using manual machining equipment; mill, lathe machines, drill press etc. 10+ years’ experience setting up fixtures, operating, and programming CNC machines Ability to work any shift, overtime, weekends Ability to operate material handling equipment Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, electrical schematics, and reading and interpreting detailed blueprints or drawings Able to use precision measuring instruments Ability to support frequent standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights with or without equipment assistance Ability to work on uneven terrain Experience leading/training other employees Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Able to perform turning, forming, straight and angle drilling boring, thread chasing, facing, cutting reaming and precision grinding Experience operating material handling equipment

Work Location:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift (This position may require candidate to work 2nd or 3rd shift after training)

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

Summary pay range:

USD $65,450 – $88,550
