CNC Machinist PAY $28/HR Job Description A CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to produce precision machined parts. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, select cutting tools, program machine controls, and perform quality checks. A strong understanding of G-code and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings are essential. The machinist must also manually adjust machine settings when necessary, combining CNC programming skills with basic manual machining tasks. Responsibilities Accurately read and understand detailed blueprints, sketches, and CAD drawings to determine part specifications, tolerances, and machining operations. Prepare CNC machines by selecting appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding, aligning and securing workpieces, and setting up machine parameters based on the part design. Monitor the CNC machine during operation, making adjustments to cutting parameters as needed, and ensuring the machine runs smoothly and produces parts within tolerances. Regularly inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and quality against specifications. Identify and resolve machine malfunctions, including tool wear, program errors, and mechanical issues. Perform minor manual adjustments to the machine or workpiece when needed, utilizing hand tools for fine finishing or minor corrections.
