Job Description
CNC Lathe Setup Operator Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes, including Eurotech and Miyano machines, with a focus on efficiency, precision, and quality. Job Responsibilities Perform strong setups on CNC lathe machines, including horizontal bar-fed turning centers with multi-spindle and live tooling. Operate 2-4 machines simultaneously while ensuring consistent performance and quality. Load material into bar feeders as needed and change tools when required. Maintain an organized and tidy work area, ensuring parts are protected from damage. Use basic measuring tools such as micrometers, Verniers, drop indicators, and various gauges to ensure part accuracy. Accurately fill out Quality Assurance (QA) sheets, reporting good parts and scrap counts per shift. Report defects, unusual sights or sounds, and machine leaks to supervisors immediately. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning screens, traps, and filters, removing chips, and checking machine oil levels. Job Requirements Experience with CNC lathes, including Eurotech and Miyano machines. Knowledge of multi-turret lathes with live tooling preferred. Basic understanding of hand tools and ability to follow verbal instructions. Familiarity with measuring tools, including micrometers, Verniers, and gauges. Ability to report data accurately on QA sheets and follow quality standards. Preferred Skills Experience in operating multi-spindle and live tooling systems. Proficiency in machine maintenance, including cleaning collets, guide bushings, and sleeves. Familiarity with proper handling of bar remnants and cutting fluids. Knowledge of best practices for housekeeping and tooling care in a manufacturing environment.
