Job Description:

Following the verbal instructions and methodologies shown to assist in the maintenance of the machine shop equipment and fabrication of parts required in higher level assemblies on the production floor. This will require the utilization of different Manual and CNC Machining equipment. In addition, bench and hand tools will also be used in conjunction with Mills and Lathes to complete the work. The parts produced will be subject to in process inspection in the machine shop and final inspection performed by quality control.

Preferred Skill Requirements:

Technically minded individual with a logical hands-on approach. Ability to retain information on multiple ongoing projects on a day-to-day basis. Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Experience with the use of measuring tools, calipers, and micrometers. Basic math geometrical skills are highly recommended. Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment or independently to complete tasks.

Daily Tasks:

Manufacturing / Deburring / Cleaning and Assembling of Mechanical Products. Producing Manufacturing Jigs / Fixtures for the Production of Electrical / Electronic Parts. Grind, file, or Sand surfaces of metal items, utilizing a variety of hand/power tools, and machines. Machine parts by utilizing machines to perform various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic workpieces.

Setup / Breakdown

of Machine Production Runs In Process Inspection of parts as they pass through the different manufacturing stages. Demonstrate General Machine Shop Safety, Maintenance and Organization Some on the job training will be provided for this position to assist the applicant in meeting the company’s expectations. The applicant is expected to have already developed some of their own skill sets in machining and to blend newly learned skills as jobs mandate. Applicants must have United States Citizenship because PD&E Electronics is a U.S. Defense Contractor.
