  • Turning (2nd Shift)Overview This position’s primary responsibility is to set-up andoperate a variety of CNC Turning Centers including but not limitedto: single and dual spindle, single and dual turret, Swiss type,gang tool, and conversation control machines to produce highquality
  • close tolerance products in a safe, effective/efficientmanner to meet operational requirements.

The candidate’s expertisewill be applied in a proactive manner utilizing best practices whenconducting documentation review, troubleshooting, continuousimprovement, equipment set-up/operation and component inspectionrelated activities. The incumbent must be an individual who canmulti-task and perform various machine shop related activitieswhich are to be conducted in a manner that complies with companyrequirements (i.e., regulatory, safety, administrative, etc.). Thisposition requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum ofpeople within the organization to successfully support operationsand the corporate strategic vision.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years ofrelated experience involving set-up and operation of precision CNCTurning Centers in an effective, efficient, safe and consistentmanner (Aerospace mfg. environment preferred).
  • High School/(GED)Diploma or Vocational/Technical school equivalent
  • Self-motivatedindividual who possesses the ability to analyze, organize, plan,multi-task and achieve results through effective interaction withothers.
  • Possess math skills required to effectively andefficiently read, interpret documents (i.e., blueprints/technicaldrawings, operation/tool/set-up sheets, procedures, ECN’s, routers,etc.).
  • Demonstrate effective verbal/written communication skillsrequired for interacting with all levels of personnel within theorganization.
  • Knowledgeable in GT&D practices, inspectionmethods, effective utilization of measuring equipment/instruments,root cause investigations, troubleshooting, and performancemetrics.
  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values,strategic plan and vision
  • Must demonstrate creative thinking asit relates to machine shop processes.

Responsibilities :
  • Bring initiatives andactivities to closure in a timely manner through effectiveinteraction with individuals, both internal and external to theMarotta organization (as required).
  • Abide by all safety, quality,housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure complianceto all regulatory and internal system requirements.
  • Contribute toa positive and cooperative work environment through effectivecommunication at all levels internal and external to theorganization
  • Actively participate in team meetings, improvementinitiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive companyinitiatives/goals
  • Assist in the training of personnel to performrequired technical tasks (as directed)
  • Consistently demonstratecommitment to company values
  • Keep management informed of areaactivities and of any significant problems.
  • Assume responsibilityfor related duties as required or assigned.
  • Ensure that work areais clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Complete special projectsand miscellaneous assignments as required.
Work Environment :
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequentlyexposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shopenvironment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes orairborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and amanufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standardoffice equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filingcabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of theappropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
  • Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/externaltemperatures, machining processes, etc.
  • Overtime and weekend workmay be required, as job duties demand.
  • No travel is expected forthis position
Physical Requirements :
  • While performing the dutiesof this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms,and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Specific visionabilities required by this job include close vision, distancevision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjustfocus.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand at length (7-8hours, daily), sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/orcrouch, and move about the facility.
  • The employee may be requiredto lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds, andoccasionally up to 70 lbs.

This position is at our Montville, NJcorporate offices location.

Pay Range:
