Senior Machinist Position Available In Westchester, New York

Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Machinist! The Senior Machinist willindependently perform machining, fabrication, assembly, and testingtasks to support new product development and production. This rolerequires interpreting engineering drawings, planning machiningoperations, and ensuring high-quality output. The ideal candidatemust possess strong verbal and written communication skills inEnglish, maintain a safe and organized work environment, andinteract with the company’s ERP system for job tracking.

Responsibilities:

Prototyping & Product Development:

Collaboratewith Engineering to develop prototypes using various manufacturingmethods and materials. Fabricate components, assemble parts, andtest completed units. Design and construct jigs and fixtures.

Assist in product design, testing, and troubleshooting. Adaptquickly to changing project demands.

Production Support:

Manufacture low- and high-volume parts. Modify existing componentsas needed. Fabricate and maintain jigs and fixtures for production.

Machine Operations (Including but not limited to): Operate CNC andmanual lathes and milling machines (milling experience isessential). Use grinders, sanders, and welding equipment (TIG, MIG,arc). Utilize 3D printing for prototyping. Program CNC machinesusing models, drawings, or sketches. Troubleshoot, optimize, andmodify CNC programs to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Operate additional machines while CNC equipment is running.

Measurement & Quality Control:

Utilize precision measurement toolsincluding calipers, micrometers, protractors, scales, and shadowgraphs. Ensure all work meets strict tolerances and qualitystandards.

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean and safework environment. Perform routine maintenance on machines andtools. Execute additional tasks as required. Adapt to evolvingduties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Advancedmachining skills required. 2 years of experience setting up andoperating 3-axis CNC milling machines. 2 years of experience withmanual mills and lathes. Experience generating and optimizingtoolpaths and G-code using CAM software (Mastercam preferred).Ability to maintain tolerances within 0.003″ for manual machiningoperations. NIMS (or equivalent) certifications preferred.

Experience with soldering, brazing, and welding (TIG, MIG, arc).Electro-mechanical assembly experience (wiring and plumbing).Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and business applications (ERPsystems, email, job tracking). Strong understanding of engineeringdrawings and GD&T. Ability to multitask in a fast-pacedenvironment.

Education & Experience:

Associate’s degree in atechnical field (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) orequivalent. 5 years of experience in a similar machining role, orNIMS certification plus 2 years of machining experience. 10 yearsof machining/model-making experience preferred.
