Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on machinist with experience in machining polyurethane and similar non-metallic materials. This is a role for someone who understands the nuances of working with soft or elastic materials and can troubleshoot issues as they arise during both CNC and manual machining processes. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently on jobs that require patience, precision, and creative thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate CNC and manual machines to produce polyurethane parts to spec Understand the unique behavior of polyurethane during machining (tool deflection, material movement, etc.) Optimize speeds, feeds, and tooling for urethane and related materials Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts to tolerance Troubleshoot material-related issues Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet job requirements and deadlines Maintain clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures

Qualifications:

3-5+ years of machining experience (urethane/polyurethane experience strongly preferred) Knowledge of both CNC and manual machine operations Understanding of how soft materials behave under various machining conditions Ability to work independently and think critically to resolve production challenges Experience with tight-tolerance work and attention to surface finish quality Familiarity with G-code, conversational controls, and basic CAM software is a plus Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
