Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machinist responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining CNC Press Brake and other machinery. You will engage in precision sheet metal forming, collaborate with engineering personnel, and uphold safety standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Program, operate, and perform standard maintenance on the CNC Press Brake for precision sheet metal forming. Plan and organize work activities in logical manufacturing order to effectively complete tasks. Read and interpret blueprints and layouts with basic proficiency. Adjust product dimensions to meet application demands with supervisory guidance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Collaborate with supervisors and engineering personnel to address discrepancies or suggest improvements on drawings. Familiarize with standard drill and tap sizes; experience with tapping arms is advantageous. Learn or operate hydraulic sheet metal rollers to create cylindrical and conical goods. Prepare, stage, mix, and apply paint using HVLP industrial paint systems; maintain spray booth and equipment. Use angle grinders for grinding, deburring, and cutting activities. Operate hand drills, magnetic drills, and small drill press machines for drilling, reaming, and countersinking. Utilize shears and iron workers effectively. Understand and work with austenitic stainless steel, aluminum, and low carbon grade steel. Handle materials, unload trucks, and correctly place products. Perform routine machine and plant maintenance as needed. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices. Use horizontal and vertical band saws proficiently. Lift up to 75 lbs safely. Perform additional duties as required or directed. Adhere to all company safety and personnel policies. Essential Skills Proficiency in drill press operation and troubleshooting. Mechanical skills and machine operating expertise. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience with lathe operations. Understanding of shop mathematics and layouts. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Degree or GED. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Familiarity with material handling and industrial equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a manufacturing facility with approximately 30 employees on the floor and a machining department. Dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and a t-shirt. The facility utilizes various equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and hydraulic sheet metal rollers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bangor, Pennsylvania. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $35.00/hr.
