Job Description
Johnson Service Group (JSG), a nationally recognized recruiting firm is assisting our manufacturing client in their search for a Machinist to operate grinding machines.

Training:

1st shift |

Permanent Shift:

2nd shift or 3rd shift depending on candidate’s preference

Compensation:

$23.00/hr + $1.00/hr shift differential

Responsibilities:

Set up machines, including tool changes according to instructions, specifications and SOP’s.
Selects, places and secures tooling in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
Calculates material removal from parts.
Sets gauges to measure OD, ID, 3pt race, and offset.
Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
Follows all plant safety regulations.
Supports departmental performance goals.
Must be able to learn and operate multiple machines.

Qualifications:

Prior experience with manual or CNC machinery
Strong mechanical aptitude
Keen attention to detail.
Ability to sign off paperwork to maintain job accuracy and consistency.
Ability to work safely and wear PPE.
Able to perform inspections and take responsibility for quality work.
Prior use of hand gauges.
Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications.
