Experience Paint Mixer Technician Job Summary:
The Paint Mixer Technician is responsible for accurately mixing paints and coatings to achieve specific colors and color matching consistencies for cabinet manufacturing wood products.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Accurately combine paint components according to formulas or customer specifications to achieve the desired color and consistency. Ensure paint is the correct consistency for the intended application method, such as spraying or brushing. Perform routine checks on paint mixtures to ensure they meet quality standards. Keep track of paint and related materials, order new supplies when needed, and manage storage areas. Clean and maintain mixing equipment, including paint guns and other tools. Adhere to safety procedures, including handling hazardous materials and following MSDS guidelines. May be assigned other tasks as needed, such as assisting painters or preparing spray guns.
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of color theory, paint formulas, and mixing techniques. Precision in measuring and mixing is essential for achieving accurate color matches. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a potentially dusty or noisy environment. Ability to communicate clearly with internal customers, painters, and other staff. Ability to manage inventory, keep track of orders, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Education and Experience:
Prior experience mixing paint is preferred. High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
