Overview:
Combines liquid and granular ingredients according to formulas for producing dough. Operates mixing equipment, pumps and valves as required to efficiently and accurately maintain a required production schedule.
Responsibilities:
Combines ingredients in proper sequence, weights and proportions as specified by product formulas. Fills mixer by lifting or pumping ingredients. Reads scales and performs arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately. Provides product samples to lab according to defined requirements. Operates mixing equipment, pumps, and valves to add ingredients in correct amounts. Cleans and rinses equipment according to specified procedures. Maintains operational level for the oil melting pot periodically through shift. The processor is required to lift 50-pound blocks of solid shortening to place into melting pot throughout the shift depending on product being processed. Transports full and empty mixing bowls to specific locations in sequence to maintain production. Maintains company standards for cleanliness, food safety and productivity in the processing area. Provides support for the production supervisor in maintaining continuous production. Works cooperatively with other members of the production area. Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards. Notify supervisor and maintenance of equipment downtime.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate required. Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills are required. Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
Working Conditions/Environment:
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds up to 25 feet at various frequencies and or intervals. Must be able to maneuver 500 pound drums manually and 2000 pound skids with a hand jack. Must be able to stand for an 8 – 10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
