Perform duties associated with continuous coiling machines and auxiliary equipment to produce wire or cable to specific tolerance and finishes. Minimum Requirements and Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety related instructions. Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment. Strong Math skills (addition, multiplication, subtraction, division, fractions) Basic Computer Skills Basic troubleshooting skill is a plus Material handling experience is a plus Major Responsibility Areas and Duties Set-up, load, unload, and operate rotating cylindrical-shaped coiling/bunching machines to fabricate wire cable Threads wire through holes on the inside edge of the machine and through twisting head and wrap it around the cap stand. Upload take-up spools into cabling/bunching machines and adjust the travel of the distributor to width of the spool Perform Continuity Testing and Quality Checks Adjust machinery during operations to regulate speed of take-up spool shaft Check wire diameter, along with lay length and weight Untangles snarls, and repairs breaks in wire/cable Moves finished wire/cable from take-up by rolling reels out of machines to be picked up by Lift Drivers Maintain 5S standards within work cell and follow all company safety rules/procedures Participate in Lean / Kaizen events as well as housekeeping and safety audits as needed. Additional Duties Additional duties as assigned, not determined at the time of hire. Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions Employees will work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, humidity. Personal Protective Equipment is required when performing work, safety toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk for long distances.
