Position Summary The Equipment Operator II is responsible forthe safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment, ensuringcontinued operation through interpretation of and response tomachine faults, and line clearance needs. Essential Duties ℜsponsibilities: Perform start-up operation from power off/coldstate; complete equipment and product paperwork, such astraceability and start-up checklist. Conduct Level I requiredpreventive maintenance tasks. Participate in changeovers to includeline clearance, system transactions, and associated documentation.
Perform work order set ups in electronic batch record, dataacquisition and inventory management systems. Pull test samples forQC in process inspection, remove completed production from machineand place in finished goods totes. Fill component Hoppers/Bowls asrequired to maintain production. Perform minor troubleshooting todiagnose machine performance issues; escalate to assignedTechnician when required to ensure resolution. Perform lineclearance activities and return equipment to proper operation.
Update hourly production boards with production and efficiencynumbers; note issues that prevented goal attainment (downtime,waste, quality, etc.) Submit machine repair tags to identify issuesrequiring support services. Ensure that product not meeting qualityspecifications is processed under non-conformanceprocedures/requirements. Maintain 5S standards in assigned workareas. Model company values and support strategic initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required. This positionis required to assure compliance of Company operations to allapplicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practicesand company documented procedures (including knowledge of allstandards, government occupational health and environmentalregulations and statutes related to the site). Engage others;promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safetyinitiatives, focusing on continuous improvement. Quals Knowledge &Skills Good Verbal and written communication skills. Read, write,understand and communicate in English. Understanding of and abilityto use computers. Sound judgment for use in machine troubleshootingand product disposition. Good interpersonal skills to facilitatecommunication at various levels and areas within the organization.
Must accurately follow both verbal and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience Must be at least 18years of age. High School Diploma, or GED with 1 to 3 years ofmanufacturing experience preferred; or Technical Certificate withassociated relevant experience. Work Environment. Work involves useof manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May beexposed to biohazards and/or chemicals. Work environment can rangefrom clean room and proper gowning requirements to a productionarea that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping,crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists, andupper body. Concentrated visual attention to perform checks onproducts and components. Typically requires travel less than 5% ofthe time.
