Position Summary:

At Gem Manufacturing, the Machine Operator is one of the first points of contact to ensure product quality is consistently achieved during the production process.

Essential Functions:

Key Responsibilities:

1.

Identify In-Process Product Condition:

a. Collect Samples during the production process. b. Conduct In-Process Inspections per the assigned control plan. c. Report any defect conditions observed to the Quality department for disposition. d. Comply with Gem’s policies, procedures and regulations. 2.

Maintain Production Line Operation:

a. Loading of raw material stock b. Clean and Lubricate machine’s components. c. Move production to the next operation and document those tasks as assigned. d. Ensure 6S is practices are conducted throughout the assigned area.

Non-essential Responsibilities:

1. Performs other duties as directed.

Requirements:
Position Qualifications and Competency Statements:

Ability to be a team player Ability to communicate effectively.

Skills and Abilities:

High School Diploma and/or equivalent. Experience with deep draw and progressive manufacturing a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to use hand trucks and other equipment to aid in moving product to next operation. Must be able to use and read calipers, micrometers, dial gages, etc. to ensure product meets customer’s specifications.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment that is adjacent to the shop work environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including, but not limited to, working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. It’s important to maintain a high level of alertness and caution while performing tasks in this work environment.
