Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Heavy Machine Operator to operate and maintain industrial equipment used in the mulch production process. This role involves feeding raw materials into machines, monitoring production output, and ensuring products meet quality standards. •This is a 2nd shift position starting time is 6pm – 6:30am •
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor machinery used in grinding, coloring, and screening mulch. Load raw materials (wood, bark, etc.) into equipment using loaders or conveyors. Perform routine machine inspections and minor maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and output efficiency. Monitor gauges, dials, and product flow to ensure continuous, safe operation. Perform regular clean-up of work areas and equipment to ensure a safe, organized workspace. Assist with packaging, labeling, and palletizing finished products when needed. Report mechanical issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
1+ year of experience operating industrial or heavy machinery (experience in landscaping, manufacturing, or wood processing industries a plus). Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor or dusty environments. Comfortable working in variable weather conditions and around loud machinery. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
