SYSTEM OPERATOR 1 / BLENDER

Job Id 25-35 Job Type Full time Day Shift, 8-12 hours 5 to 7 days per week $24.49 to $27.23, hourly rate What you’ll do Operate computer-based automated blending, pasteurizing, finished products, and CIP systems. Must maintain sterility of Pasteurizer. Keep accurate legible logs of all daily activities. Maintain daily inventory and shift reports. Troubleshoot all RTS blending equipment and related lines. Perform administrative tasks as assigned. Work well within a team environment. Lead Blenders as necessary. Performs periodic tear-down of all pasteurizers, valves and lines associated with the system. Verifies the pulling and staging of all ingredients to be dumped/pumped for the Blender’s production. Works closely with the other Blenders, System Operators, Supervisors, and fellow team members while supporting their needs. Follows instructions and communicates product changes, clean ups, or any problems that deviate from the schedule or hinder efficiencies. Performs complex tank, hose/line connections to redirect flows as required. Performs lab tests to support the blending process (including pre-checks) and logs them manually and/or electronically. Documents accurately and timely. Follows GMP, Safety, SSOP, SOP and HACCP procedures. Uses mechanical aptitude to facilitate troubleshooting valves, pumps, meters, solenoids and valve matrix. Performs tasks in outside tanker unloading as needed. Maintain a clean environment in the blend room, pasteurizer room, control room and chilled tank room. Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds. Must be able to lift 75 pounds with assistance from coworker during general clean-ups and maintenance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to flavor juices/drinks. Must be able to sense, by smell, whether or not juices/drinks are spoiled. Must be able to physically enter restricted, confined spaces including blend tanks and other tanks. Must communicate well, verbally and in writing. Must learn how to train new Blenders. Must be willing to cross train in other jobs. Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimum supervision. Maintain caustic and acid tanks. Assist other departments as required. Must wear slip resistant, steel-toe shoes/boots. Active participation and support of the plant safety program is required. Regular attendance required. Must interact cordially with co-workers. Perform any other duties assigned. What we’re looking for High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must pass Basic Skills Assessments for the position. Must be able to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be able to convert weights and measures. Must be able to read, interpret and follow written instructions, including recipes, safety information, SOP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP and GMP’s. Must be able to learn and understand flow patterns and hook-ups required to get juice products from tanks, bins and drums to blend tanks. Must be able to calculate ingredients needed to make required batches. Must be able to obtain a Class “B” FNG Forklift Operator license within 30 days. Must be able to learn FNG’s computerized RFX inventory program and computerized blending. Must be familiar with CIP processes and flow panels. Requires the ability to read and understand process flow diagrams. Blending or system operator experience preferred. Food processing or manufacturing experience helpful. Due to the significant amount of steps/stairs contained in our production facility, employees must have the ability to navigate steps/stairs in a safe manner.
